This is a report of road crushes
situation from January to December, 2022.
None the less, it is the obligation to
each one of us to work together and make
sure that road safety is everybody’s
concern and be determined to reduce the
unnecessary deaths on our own roads.
That's the reason Rosaf is here to provide some
measures that Can help in reduction of Road Crashes.
In the just ended year 2022, 5,553 road accidents were reported compared to 9,416 road accidents in the year, 2021 representing 41% decrease.
In terms of fatal road accidents, a total of 919 accidents were reported in 2022 and 1,068 people lost their lives compared to 1,226 fatal road accidents reported in 2021 and 1,444 people died representing 25% and 26% decrease respectively.
A total of 353 serious road accidents were reported in 2022 and 573 people suffered serious injuries whilst in 2021, 498 serious road accidents were reported and 755 people suffered serious injuries representing 29% and 24% decrease respectively
On the other hand, a total of 2,351 minor road accidents were reported in 2022 injuring 4,179 people whilst in 2021, 3,807 minor road accidents were reported injuring 6,019 people representing 38% and 31% decrease in number of accidents and number of people with minor injuries respectively
Again a total of 1,915 damages road accidents were reported in the year 2022 whilst in 2021 same period 3,861 damages road accidents were reported representing 50% decrease.
And lastly, a total of 15 accidents involving animals were reported in 2022 against 24 reported 2021 same period representing 36% increase.
