Safe Roads, Secure Lives: Reducing road crashes by 50% by 2030

Join us on our mission to raise awareness about road safety and empower individuals to make informed decisions on the road.

Love 30 (30km/hr)

30 km/hr speed limit in residential, school zones, and pedestrian-heavy areas reduces accident severity and protects vulnerable road users, allowing drivers more time to react to potential hazards.

Walking and Cycling

Walking and cycling improve public health, reduce environmental impact, and enhance quality of life. Governments promote sustainable cities with pedestrian-friendly infrastructure and cycling lanes.

Compaigns

Maso Ponseponse

Maso Ponseponse or “Eyes Everywhere” in English is a sensitization initiative in Malawi, encouraging individuals to be responsible road users and report road crashes. It encourages them to observe road signs, regulations, distractions, and encourage others to support government efforts.

Walk to the City Campaign

The Walk to the City Campaign in Malawi encourages people to walk and cycle to work, schools, and homes to raise road safety awareness and reduce crashes. It reminds pedestrians and cyclists of their duty to follow traffic rules, encourages motorists to respect pedestrians and cyclists, and urges authorities to revisit mobility infrastructure.

30KM/H Speed Limit Campaign

ROSAF advocates for Malawi's government to reduce mandatory speed limit to 30km/hr, targeting school zones and weekly markets. Research shows pedestrians have 90% chance of survival at 30km/h or below.

Road Shows Campaign

ROSAF's Road Shows campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage safer road use among road users. It involves sensitization, adherence to rules, primary safety education, and various activities. Over 1,300 Malawians die from road crashes annually, with 93% occurring in low- and middle-income countries.
